After the course was over, we were able to explore Rome a bit, with the help of an excellent guide - Guido, a friend of
M.Laura's. With a degree in Art History...he led us through the Vatican and in/around the ruins of Rome, we were fascinated with everything he told us about the history of the Eternal City. At the Vatican we were awed by the incredible works of art and Michaelangelo's masterpiece on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel - really there are no words to describe it! The Colloseum was incredible also, we were stunned at the actual size of it...and the fact that they could get 50,000 people into it (and/or out of it) in about 10 minutes was unbelievable! Hope you enjoy the few photos we selected to show.
(We may add further photos later...as we filter through all that we took!)
Ciao! Jamie & Flo

A great view of the interior of the Colloseum.

The two of us inside the colossal venue - I believe that is where the word originated.
