Little Blue Penguins!


The Little Penguins (fairy penguins) on Phillip Island are only about a foot tall  and they have a beautiful dark blue coat. Jamie has already started painting and designing some of these sweet little guys!
 
We were not allowed to photograph them, but the experience of watching them parade in from out of the ocean after dark was incredible. About 6,000 of them parade in each evening, heading to their nests in the hillside. They were so cute!

We thought Flo looked cute (okay, maybe a little like a penguin) - all bundled and layered up for warmth when we were on our way to see the little Penguins.

At the Koala Sanctuary, we also spotted a wallabie (small member of the kangaroo family) bounding about, we had to be quick to catch him though, he was fast!

As we toured house and grounds on Churchill Island, we caught this sweet horse...can you see his one black leg? :) Plus, his expression we thought, was so debonair, with his hair flipped on one side. Tres chic..

Photos of The Nobbies, a beautiful section of coast with neat rock croppings...just beautiful.

We tried to take a self-portrait, holding the camera out in front of us, took several tries to get it! lol

Flo made a sign in the sand for Jim and Jamie did one for Don.

Flo and Jamie run into the ocean together, we grabbed each other's hand as we were running...(little does she know Jamie was going to try to pull her down and into the water)....just kidding!

A beautiful lighthouse, in stunning surroundings.

We are up at an overlook here - you can see forever - we were able to see the city of Melbourne far away in the background.

We also experienced a ride on a riverboat down the Murray River.

Jamie's new favorite little bird...called a fairy wren. The blue and black contrast was so PRETTY.

We were able to see some Echidna's...cute little critters, hm?
