Jocelyn’s husband Malcolm, is an award-winning stickmaker (or crookmaker) whose work is highly acclaimed throughout Scotland. We thought our fellow artists would appreciate looking at some of his skillful carvings (he also paints these) the pictures really do not do them justice!

More of Malcolm’s sticks, the ones that are “U” shaped are thumb sticks...the detail is simply incredible! They are carved from one piece of wood and/or horn. He sells his sticks through Purdey’s of London.

A traditional Scottish meal - Haggis, Neeps n’ Tatties. (Neeps are turnips and tatties are mashed potatoes.) Malcolm prepared this for us. Thanks... =o)

A group shot of the stick room...an amazing sight.
As you can see, the walls are practically papered with his awards.
Well done Malcolm, thank you for sharing!

A few more misc. pics....

Jamie & Flo at the beautiful Threave Gardens.

Did I mention a night in a castle??
This was a bed fit for a Princess... *wink/grin*

This may look like a pile of stones, but it is actually a close-up view of a stone fence - they line the boundaries of most of the farmlands. Incredible!

We hope you enjoyed our little taste of Scotland! As you can see, we packed a lot into the short amount of time we had in this beautiful land. It was hard narrowing down from all the photos that we took...we may add more later! (Now, we will definitely have to add to our Italy page! LOL Stay tuned...) face
